Two young Chicago siblings, ages 16 and 20, were shot and killed on Thursday, October 26. The prime suspect is 34-year-old Kephren Ferguson, a resident of Hammond, Indiana as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. The incident occurred during an altercation between roommates.
Police officers in Matteson responded to reports of gunfire in the 4100 block of Lindenwood Drive. Victims Ashiya Ogden, a 20-year-old woman, and Darius Folds, a 16-year-old boy, were found severely injured with gunshot wounds per ABC7 Chicago. Both victims were rushed to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, but succumbed to their injuries.
Investigations quickly led the police to Ferguson. He was arrested at his residence after a collaborative operation between the Hammond Police Department SWAT and the Matteson Police Department.
Awaiting trial, Ferguson is now facing two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder as stated by ABC7 Chicago. He has also been denied bail.
