Irvine, California is planning a new library, integral to the city's Great Park Framework Plan. Involving the community in its design, two town hall meetings will engage residents, gathering their feedback and suggestions to shape the future of the facility, as per the City of Irvine.
On October 25, Irvine will host the first meeting, the Community Listening and Feedback Town Hall, at the Portola Springs Community Center. There, the city will welcome locals' initial impressions about library resources and architectural design. A second meeting, the Review and Discussion of Design Options, will follow on November 16, at the Lakeview Senior Center. This aims to refine the library's planning based on feedback from the first discussion, as mentioned by the City of Irvine.
The proposed new library, to be located adjacent the Botanical Gardens and the Veteran’s Memorial Park and Gardens, will be Irvine's future central library. Nested within the Great Park's sprawling 300 acres, the city plans to establish this park as a regional destination offering an array of recreational and cultural experiences to suit a diverse population.
