Earlier today, Jacksonville Police apprehended three Springfield residents implicated in the alleged theft from a Dollar General store on East Morton Avenue. Notified by a store employee, officers responded to the incident around 2:30 p.m., finding a cart filled with merchandise missing. Fox Illinois reports that the stolen goods were later discovered in the suspects' car parked in a nearby business's lot.

Emanuel Hayes, 64, and Ronald C. Harris, 55, both of Springfield, will be charged with retail theft of displayed merchandise under $300. Additionally, Alexandria K. Springer, 33, also from Springfield, was charged with retail theft and fits a profile with an outstanding out-of-county warrant for failure to respond to a court-ordered subpoena.

Currently, Springer is detained at the Morgan County Jail, according to WLDS, a Jacksonville local news outlet. Hayes and Harris were subsequently released on a notice to appear, while Springer remains in custody at Morgan County Jail due to her outstanding warrant.
