On October 18th, Springfield, Massachusetts police apprehended Harrison Silva Jr., who had two outstanding warrants, at a Brookline Avenue apartment. The operation involved various law enforcement units, including the Springfield Police Warrant Apprehension Unit, Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit, Hampden County Sheriff's Department, Massachusetts State Police VFAS, and United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force. The Springfield Police reported that the search yielded a stolen firearm, heroin, gun and extra rounds of magazine.

Silva was the target of two arrest warrants, officers placed the apartment under surveillance before moving to arrest the suspect. 

Subsequent to his arrest, Silva was charged with multiple offenses including possession of a firearm without an FID Card, possession of ammunition without an FID Card, intent to distribute a Class A drug, possession of a firearm during a felony, failure to surrender a firearm/license/FID Card, receiving stolen property valued under $1200, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, according to the Springfield Police report.
