Earlier today, a single-vehicle accident in Joliet resulted in the unfortunate death of a 35-year-old man. The crash occurred at approximately 10:17 PM when the man's Honda Accord abruptly left the road, hitting a light pole and a fence. The reason behind the sudden veer-off remains to been unknown with investigations ongoing, according to FOX 32 Chicago.
The accident took place near the intersection of Black Road and Barber Lane. First responders found the driver severely injured, extracted him from the wreckage and transported him to Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center. However, he succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced deceased at the facility, featured in a report by Patch earlier today.
The victim's identity has been so far withheld from the public. The job of releasing the victim's identity, as well as classifying the death, falls under the responsibility of the Will County Coroner's Office.
