
An attempted kidnapping and murder of two 12-year-olds came to light yesterday in Healdsburg, California.
According to a local announcement from the Healdsburg Police, the incident took place at Giorgi Park. The police report states that upon being alerted, family members rushed to protect the intended victims creating a worrying illustration of threats to public safety.
The situation took a dangerous turn when ignoring police orders the suspect tried to flee the crime scene. During his flight, he hit one of the guardian adults with his car, displaying contempt for human life.
However, the suspect's attempted escape resulted in him crashing his vehicle into a residential property. With assistance from collaborative agencies such as the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, CHP, Petaluma Police, and Healdsburg Fire, the suspect was apprehended just blocks away from the crash location.
The update from Healdsburg Police confirms there are no suspected accomplices in the case. More details will unfold as the investigation continues. Post apprehension, the suspect was first taken to a hospital and later shifted to the Sonoma County Jail.
The victims of this dreadful incident are physically uninjured.
