
On Christmas Day 2022, the small town of Edgecomb, Maine was unsettled by the death of a 3-year-old girl. After almost ten months, prosecutors have announced the arrest of 29-year-old Tyler Witham-Jordan on suspicion of murder, as per NBC Boston.
According to a WGME report, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, conducted an autopsy and to rule the death of Makinzlee Handrahan as a homicide. The specific cause was not yet revealed.
As reported by NECN, emergency responders received a distress call around 7:30 a.m. about a child not breathing. Mackinzlee was transported to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta, where she was pronounced deceased.
Witham-Jordan was arrested by Maine State Police Major Crimes detectives and transferred to Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset. It is expected he will see a court next week to face murder charges, but it remains indistinct if he's secured legal representation.
