John Geovanni Pires Monteiro Macedo, 20, has been indicted on numerous charges including murder and assault by a Plymouth County grand jury. As reported by the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office, the charges relate to a shooting at Myles Standish State Forest in Plymouth on July 12th.

On the day of the incident, Plymouth Police received multiple emergency calls around 2:40 p.m. concerning a shooting and a male victim with gunshot wounds in the park. The authorities found Robert Aponte-Flores, 25, from New Bedford gravely wounded. Despite being rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

After a comprehensive investigation by Massachusetts State Police and Plymouth Police, witnesses reported seeing an argument between Aponte-Flores and Monteiro Macedo at a park picnic area before to the shooting. This culminated in the issue of an arrest warrant for Monteiro Macedo who was then arrested.
