Today, the Marin County Fire Department conducted a prescribed fire in the Mount Tamalpais Watershed, between Stinson Beach and Mill Valley, aiming to cut down on excess vegetation and mitigate the risk of a severe wildfire.

Marin County's prescribed fire is a proactive approach in this regard. According to the Marin County Fire Department earlier today, the public has been advised against calling 911 to report smoke emanating from the 11-acre burn zone. Trails in the vicinity will be off-limits for the duration of the operation.
