Today, a man's home was destroyed by fire in Middelboro. As per a report by Boston25 News, the incident occurred in the early morning of October 23, resulting in the man being hospitalized.
Fire Chief Owen Thompson provided details of the fire on Deerfield Path. Upon arrival shortly after 3 a.m., the house was fully ablaze. The lack of nearby fire hydrants complicated the firefighters' efforts, forcing them to rely on tanker trucks and hoses, as noted in a Yahoo News report.
The only occupant was able to escape before being hospitalized for smoke inhalation. Additional support to tackle the blaze came from crews of neighboring towns of Raynham, Plympton, and Bridgewater, who supported Middleboro firefighters at the scene.
To uncover the cause of the incident, an investigation has been launched by the State Fire Marshal's office. Middleboro now waits for answers and, ideally, insights into fire preparedness and prevention.
