An 82-year-old man, Gary Lyons, was reported missing from Warren and was unfortunately found dead earlier this week at Southborough. Lyons was been missing since September and his body was discovered on October 16, in a small pond on the closed Stonybrook Golf Course, according to MassLive. Lyons was last seen on September 14, and his car was spotted at the golf course on October 2nd.
Lyons had been missing after visiting a friend in Monson on September 14 and was reported missing the day after. Authorities subsequently issued a Silver Alert on September 16, as reported by WWLP. Lyons, who suffered from cognitive disabilities had previously told his family he was heading "east," according to Daily Voice.
The police do not currently suspect foul play, although the exact circumstances surrounding Lyons's death remain are under investigation. MassLive reported that the Massachusetts State Police, the Southborough Police, and detectives from the district attorney's office are all involved in this investigation.
