Significant alterations are soon to hit the parking payment system at train stations in Naperville, Illinois. Commencing from Monday, October 9th, commuters utilizing the Naperville or Route 59 train station lots will be introduced to a novel payment procedure which incorporates the use of their license plate numbers, according to an announcement on the official Naperville City Facebook page.
The Kroehler Lot at the Naperville station is the also subject to change, converting to daily fee parking from the same date. Burlington Lot, however, will retain its permit holders only status until the end of the year when all parking spaces will switch to daily fee parking. Detailed updates and FAQs on this change can be found on the Naperville City Facebook page.
The transition outlined aims to streamline urban planning, optimizing convenience, to invariably better the commuter experience. This is not the first of such initiatives. In 2022, Naperville City approved Workonomy Hub Coworking's lease - a shared office space provider - to set up in the 5th Avenue Metra Station complex.
