On October 6th, at SERTA bus terminal in New Bedford, Massachusetts, an altercation between two men culminated in a knife attack. The victim sustained injuries during the assault, as reported in a statement by the New Bedford Police Department. The suspect, 51-year-old Derek Wiggins, allegedly engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim before assaulting him with a pocket knife.
Sgt. Shane Ramos arrested Wiggins and found the knife on his person. Wiggins is now facing charges for assault and battery, as well as assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon. The victim is expected to fully recover following hospital treatment.
