An incident transpired in New Bedford earlier this week when a police officer attempted to halt a stolen vehicle. Officer James Marinelli was subsequently dragged by the car for an estimated 90 feet as reported by the New Bedford Police Department.
The officer had intercepted the car which had been reported stolen, on Route 18 South near the intersection of Conway St. Its occupants, Kendra and Todd Blackler, initiated a dangerous conflict that resulted in the dragging of Officer Marinelli. While the officer sustained minor injuries, the suspects fled the scene.
Kendra Blackler was subsequently arrested on foot, while her husband has not been located according to the New Bedford Police Department.
