Construction in Palmdale has led to daily traffic disruptions and road closures due to the ongoing SR-14 construction project. Managed by Caltrans, the work is focused on highway improvements.
Though temporary frustration may prevail among residents and commuters, safer and smoother roads is the ultimate goal. On October 15, the City of Palmdale provided an update about closures and work schedules for the week of October 16-20.
As indicated in the City's post, closures on SR-14's north and southbound lanes will take place from October 16th to 20th. Median installations and K-rail work will be conducted from Technology Drive to Avenue A. A full northbound freeway closure from Avenue I through Avenue K will occur during the overnight hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18th. Commuters are advised to adjust their travel plans accordingly.
The City of Palmdale urges patience and understanding during the implementation of these improvements by Caltrans.
