
Today, at about 12:50 a.m., a pedestrian was struck and killed by a Muni bus on the No. 49 route on Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco. The San Francisco Standard reports the victim was found under the bus with grave injuries, which led to their death despite first responders' attempts.
As per CBS San Francisco, this incident occurred in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood. The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) and the Office of the Medical Examiner are investigating the case.
The victim's identity hasn't been released yet, awaiting next-of-kin notification. The bus driver, cooperating with investigators, stayed at the accident scene.
