On October 14, a 16-year-old male reportedly discharged a firearm during a disagreement in a Safeway parking lot in Petaluma, California. According to the Petaluma Police Department, the argument with a 41-year-old woman was over a vehicle sale. No injuries were reported.
The police have yet to locate the firearm utilized by the teenager during the confrontation. The investigation continues into how he gained access to it.
The police report details how the young suspect allegedly attempted to sell the vehicle unlawfully online after meeting with the victim and test-driving it, having changed its license plates. The owner arranged to meet the teenager using a pseudonym and the facade of an interested buyer. The ensuing argument resulted in a firearm being brandished and the suspect's apprehension.
As the investigation develops, the Petaluma Police Department is welcoming any additional information.
