The San Francisco District Attorney’s Office has announced charges against Xavier Pittman and Richard Tuiasosopo—involved in the June 18 Embarcadero shooting.
Arrested yesterday, Xavier Pittman faces arraignment on October 20 for accusations including conspiracy and two counts of second-degree burglary, per the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office report. It's noteworthy that, allegedly, Pittman committed these crimes during his release on another pending issue. Richard Tuiasosopo, presently in custody in Alameda County for unrelated charges, will be transferred to San Francisco to undergo prosecution linked to the shooting.
District Attorney Brooke Jenkins highlighted in her press statement the public's trust and patience as the investigation unfolds. It emphasized the crucial role of concerted efforts from prosecution, law enforcement, and community members.
The District Attorney's Office intends to propose a motion to keep Pittman in detention pending trial, considering the public safety threat he presents.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing, and the public is encouraged to provide any useful information to the San Francisco Police Department.
