Today, San Marcos, California revealed new playground equipment at Simmons Park. The revamped playground features a variety of modern amenities, such as a four-seater disc swing and a 68-foot-long zipline named the "Dragon Rider", according to the City of San Marcos.
Simmons Park, established in 2003, has been a popular spot for San Marcos inhabitants. Providing basketball courts, barbecue facilities, picnic areas, trail connections, and more, it represents the city's dedication to outdoor activities. The new playground equipment adds an extra 1,000 square feet to the play area, cementing the park's place within the city's park network.
"The upgrade to Simmons Park's playground is a significant achievement," said Andrea Gonzalez, the Assistant Director of the Parks and Recreation Department. "The upgrade reflects true to our nickname 'San Parkos' by catering to the changing needs of San Marcos residents."
Located at 2180 Rocky Point Drive, Simmons Park operates from sunrise to sunset. With its upgraded amenities, the park caters to children aged two to 12. According to the official announcement, San Marcos warmly invites families to Simmons Park where new and nostalgic memories will undoubtedly be made.
