The Finley Aquatic Center in Santa Rosa will shut down for renovations on November 3, with a planned reopening in spring 2024. The closure will facilitate facility upgrades, including a new splash pad and spray ground, in response to community needs and accessibility emphasis, according to the City of Santa Rosa.
Despite the Center's closure, the City's Ridgway Swim Center will enhance its lap swimming and water fitness classes schedule to keep the community engaged.
Additional renovations at Finley Aquatic Center will, to be inclusive of all, include compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act in pool deck areas, creation of a new mechanical room, landscaping, and re-plastering of the pool complex–in an attempt to optimize facility quality without skimping out on aesthetics.
Recognizing the potential inconvenience due to the closure, City and Center officials aim to compensate by ensuring the Ridgway Swim Center's facilities meet the needs of pool users. For updates to be expected on the renovation progress, patrons can visit SRCity.org/FinleySprayGround.
