NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal's crispy chicken chain, Big Chicken, will expand its presence to Massachusetts with a new location confirmed for the North Shore Mall in Peabody, as reported by MassLive.
Since its began in Los Angeles in 2018, Big Chicken counts among its locations more than 300 franchises across different cities, sports venues, and cruise ships. International expansion is also on the horizon. Big Chicken's CEO, Josh Halpern, expressed his enthusiasm for the chain's expansion to Massachusetts, mentioning his personal ties to the Northshore Mall area and the contributions of local partners Paul and Ryan in establishing Big Chicken in Peabody.
The new location in Peabody, scheduled to open in 2024, will be the first of its kind in Massachusetts. According to NBC Boston, there has been previous announcements for five additional locations in Boston. The brand's unique and patron-inspired menu items such as "The Ultimate" and "Shaq Attack" chicken sandwiches, Cheez-It-crusted mac n' cheese, and ice cream shakes continue to entice consumers, as MassLive reports.
