Yesterday, a 68-year-old man was shot in North Elk Grove near an alley.
According to the Chicago Police Department's website, the unidentified offender fired a handgun into the man's chest around 4:45 p.m.
The injured man, in serious condition, was rushed to Stroger Hospital.
While the perpetrator remains to be apprehended, the local detectives have initiated an investigation but with no suspects identified as yet.
