On October 13, a freeway shooting occurred on eastbound Interstate 80 between Ashby Avenue and University Avenue in Berkeley, California. CHP officers were dispatched to the victim's residence after a call about the shooting came in around 8:50 p.m. The victim initially mistook the sound of gunfire for a tire popping, only to discover damage inflicted via firearm upon reaching home. The preliminary examination confirmed the vehicle sustained damages from a shooting.
