On October 17, a shooting incident shook the Brentwood Park mobile home community at 1100 Industrial Blvd., Chula Vista. Two young men were shot, a 21-year-old who subsequently died and a 17-year-old who is now stable, according to the Chula Vista Police Department.

Investigators have identified the suspect as 20-year-old Kai Espinoza, a resident of the Brentwood Park community itself. The Chula Vista Police Department partnered with regional law enforcement to join the search. Espinoza, after evading arrest initially, later turned himself in at the Chula Vista Police Department yesterday.
The case remains open for further investigation as more details and motivations are being explored while the process of interviewing witnesses continues, the official report stated.
