The City of Palmdale is preparing for a family-oriented Halloween event at the Palmdale Amphitheater on Friday, October 20. The main attraction is a screening of Tim Burton's famous film "The Nightmare Before Christmas," a mashup of Halloween and Christmas themes in stop-motion animation, as posted on the City of Palmdale Facebook page.

Additionally, there is a costume contest for those wishing to display their enthusiasm for Halloween. The contest includes several categories, such as individual costumes (Spookiest, Funniest, Most Original, and Best Closest to the Movie Showing) and group costumes (Best Duo, Best Family/Group, Best Group Closest to the Movie Showing).

Gates will open at 5:00 pm, with all activities beginning simultaneously. Participants are advised to register for the costume contest between 5:00 and 6:00 pm at the costume booth. The Spooky Treat Trail, a hit with both adults and children, runs from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, and the costume contest kicks off at 6:15 pm. The film starts at 6:45 pm, offering viewers the chance to enjoy the adventures of Jack Skellington.
