The affordable housing efforts of San Bernardino County have recently attracted national attention following successful project developments throughout the county. A recent report details that Congressman Pete Aguilar (D-Redlands) and U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Marcia Fudge toured some of the county's projects, particularly spotlighting the Bloomington Grove and Lillian Court developments in Bloomington.
Local officials such as Board of Supervisors Chair and Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe joined Aguilar and Fudge during the tour. This visit provided insights into the county's success in addressing affordable housing, with the focus, on amenities such as a county library, a tranquil park, and a full-service community center available to residents.
Alongside this, a video was released documenting the tour, featuring insights from Aguilar and Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca Jr., to visibly bring to attention the benefits local families and seniors have drawn from the project.
