Bridget Hansen, a 40-year-old woman from Springfield, was sentenced to a year and one day in prison for defrauding Our Redeemer Day Care in Jacksonville, Illinois of over $45,000 which has led to financial difficulty within the institution and hindered its ability to secure grants and resources, according to Fox Illinois.
Hansen, who was working as the director of Our Redeemer Day Care systemically siphoned funds from the daycare's bank accounts to pay for personal expenses, as per WLDS.
Hansen was indicted in October of 2020 and pleaded guilty in January of 2023 to charges of wire fraud.
Senior U.S. District Court Judge Sue E. Myerscough ruled that she was responsible for the wire fraud worthy to make restitution worth $45,894.53.
