On September 1, Officer Brightwell, while on routine patrol, pulled over a vehicle due to a traffic violation. The situation escalated when he discovered drug paraphernalia inside the car.
According to the Fairfield Police Department, the driver of the vehicle confessed to possessing a loaded 9mm handgun. Officer Brightwell skillfully apprehended the driver, a 21-year-old resident of Suisun City, to, without incident, recover the firearm.
The suspect was subsequently charged with firearms and narcotics offenses and is currently detained at Solano County Jail.
