Joshua Andrade, a 21-year-old man from Swansea, Massachusetts, has been sentenced to eight to twelve years in state prison after pleading guilty to charges of raping a minor and multiple counts of child pornography, drug, and gun offenses. The case was investigated by local authorities, collaboratively with the Seekonk, Rehoboth, and Somerset police departments, according to the Sun Chronicles news.
Police began investigating Andrade in December 2022 after the victim, who was 15 years old at the time, disclosed to a state Department of Children and Families worker that she had been raped, the DA’s office said, as reported by Boston.com.
Other charges against Andrade include drug and weapon possession. A search of Andrade's residence revealed ammunition, drug-dealing supplies, and drugs worth nearly $7,000, according to Boston.com.
