A 17-year-old was arrested last Friday in Dorchester, Boston, with a loaded firearm, according to the Boston Police Department. The arrest occurred as part of an ongoing firearm investigation led by the Youth Violence Strike Force.
Officers approached a group of around 25 people situated in a no trespassing zone. This action led the group to scatter quickly, helping to uncover the suspect who attempted to flee with a ghost gun—a homemade and untraceable firearm. The weapon was equipped with a laser sight, a round in the chamber, and nine additional rounds in the magazine.
Following the arrest, a search of the surrounding area led officers to a discarded shoulder bag located in a nearby laundromat. The bag contained a loaded SigSauer P365, two loose 9mm ammunition rounds, and small plastic bags believed to hold marijuana and crack cocaine.
Charges against the minor include unlawful firearm and ammunition possession, with an impending arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
