Yesterday evening, an incident of violent crime occurred in Chicago's busy Loop district. A 16-year-old girl, Heaven Taylor, was fatally stabbed in an escalated physical confrontation with another female, as relayed by Chicago Tribune.
The incident, which took place on the 0-100 block of West Van Buren Street, has left family, friends and community members profoundly affected. The assailant fled the scene after inflicting two stab wounds to Taylor's chest. Taylor was conveyed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
As per the Chicago Tribune, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Taylor's identity on the following day.
Currently, no suspects are in custody, and the investigation into this tragic event is underway.
