On July 21, a boating accident in Sesuit Harbor, Dennis, Cape Cod, tragically led to the death of 17-year-old Sadie Mauro and severe injuries of two others. This dire event, reported by NBC Boston, has resulted in charges against 19-year-old David K. Sullivan.
Last Friday, Sullivan was indicted by a Barnstable County grand jury, per the Cape & Islands District Attorney. The charges against him include operating a vessel under the influence and reckless operation of a vessel causing a death as stated in Boston 25 News.
On the night of the crash, U.S. Coast Guard, the Dennis and Sandwich fire departments, and the Barnstable County Dive Team spearheaded the search for Mauro off Cold Storage Beach.
Mauro, a rising senior and lacrosse standout at Dover-Sherborn High School, is remembered fondly by her peers. Leslie Frank, from Mass.
