
Earlier today, a tractor-trailer rolled over, causing a roadblock on the eastbound side of the Mass Pike in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. This incident resulted in the shutdown of a major ramp connecting I-90 to I-495, spurring new conversations about truck safety. WHDH reported that the accident, taking place around 9 a.m., required the response of numerous emergency crews.

In unsettling images shared by the Hopkinton Fire Department and Massachusetts State Police, the tractor-trailer can to be seen sprawled across the pavement, its cargo — assorted garbage — littering the roadside. The driver of the vehicle only suffered minor injuries.
Massachusetts State Police reported that the cleanup following the accident was expected to last at least two hours in order to the ramp reopening fully. A tweet from the Hopkinton Fire Department, informing the general populace about the closure, was sent out. Due to this incident, traffic diversions forced drivers to explore alternative routes.
