
A fatal car accident occurred on South DuSable Lake Shore Drive in the Douglas neighborhood of Chicago last night, leaving two dead and four critically injured. The accident happened at around 8:45 p.m. involving a Chevrolet and a Nissan sedan, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times.
According to witnesses, the Chevrolet was trying to change lanes when it collided with the Nissan traveling southbound. Following the collision, the Nissan crashed into a nearby tree, inflicting severe injuries on the occupants. The driver and a female passenger of the Nissan were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where they later died from their injuries, as reported by Fox 32 Chicago.
Two other 21-year-old women from the Nissan survived the crash, but they are currently in critical condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The Chevrolet’s driver and another passenger suffered less severe injuries, currently treated in fair condition at Stroger Hospital, according to Fox 32 Chicago.
