On October 15, the Vallejo Police Department arrested a thief who had stolen more than $14,600 worth of merchandise, predominantly Red Bull energy drinks and New Amsterdam vodka, from a local store. The arrest followed successful identification from surveillance footage and store employee statements, as detailed on the department's Facebook post.
Recognition for the arrest extends beyond the police, crediting a successful example of community participation in aiding law enforcement efforts.
Adding intrigue to this case is not only the magnitude of the thefts but the interest of this thief, particularly in Red Bull and vodka. As disclosed on the Vallejo Police Department's Facebook Page, the thief targeted this specific store more than 20 times, escaping with large quantities of products each time.
Attempting to elude arrest, the female suspect admitted post-Miranda to using counterfeit license plates on her vehicle, an attempt that, led to failure to evade detection.
