
Yesterday, a violent incident resulting in a stabbing occurred at the Concord BART station, requiring the assistance of a BART Crisis Intervention Specialist. The intervention led to the arrest of one suspect.
According to the BART Police Department, two males began arguing after 7 p.m. within the bus zone near the station. The BART Crisis Intervention Specialist promptly located the injured victim, updating officers en route.
Officers, upon reaching the scene, arrested suspect Michael Reese, 70, of Castro Valley, based on eyewitness accounts. The victim, stabilized after immediate hospital transport, remains in care.
In this incident, the Crisis Intervention Specialists played a pivotal role. According to BART, the particularly successful response is attributed to the swift action and effective coordination among the specialists, officers, and witnesses.
