Earlier today, Watertown, Connecticut was the scene of a heartbreaking incident involving a 14-year-old boy who accidentally shot himself in the head with an unsecured firearm.
The accident occurred at a Hadley Street residence, reports WWLP.
In response to the emergency, police arrived quickly, following a blood trail to an adult's bedroom they found to contain an empty revolver holster. Investigations unfolded to reveal the teen was home alone with access to a poorly secured .22 revolver as WTNH reports. Currently, the boy is under treatment at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and his condition has been upgraded to stable.
Further examination of the residence led to the alarming discovery of 23 guns, many of which noticeably unsecured according to WTNH.
