Yesterday, a series of events unfolded around the Badoux Lounge on 802 Main St., Worcester, Massachusetts, which led to a police chase, the recovery of a firearm, and various charges levelled against one individual. The Worcester Police Department reports that 29-year-old Greenwood St. resident, Juan Pablo Sanchez-Crespo, discharged a firearm into the air while officers were present.
Sanchez-Crespo to retreat proceeded promptly to a nearby white Acura after firing the shots. The officers approached the vehicle, but Sanchez-Crespo tried to escape, injuring an officer's foot in the process. The officers pursued the fleeing suspect, penning the Acura in on Webster Place. Following a felony vehicle stop and waiting for backup, Sanchez-Crespo was arrested, and a loaded handgun was found along the escape route on Beacon St.
Significantly, Sanchez-Crespo does not hold a license to carry firearms. He now faces a list of charges, including unlawful possession and discharging of a firearm, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, and reckless driving, as per information from the Worcester Police Department.
