John Rosa, a 30-year-old Dorchester local, is facing a slew of charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon and drug trafficking, after officers pulled him over and discovered he was carrying a small pharmacy's worth of pills and a wad of cash.
The culmination of firearm investigation, the Mattapan arrest began with a traffic stop to pull over Rosa's vehicle last Monday before it was ultimately towed away as evidence. According to the Boston Police Department, during the suspect's frisk, officers unearthed approximately 25 grams of what they believe to be oxycodone, alongside $1,130 in cash.
Rosa was swiftly arrested with charges and he was arraigned in Dorchester District Court. Officers eager to thread more of this tapestry of urban warfare conducted a warranted search of Rosa's impounded vehicle on the afternoon of Friday, November 24th.
The trove yielded by this search was a SCCY CPX-2 firearm, loaded with eleven rounds. With this evidence, detectives are prepping to double down on Rosa with additional complaints of unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and a large-capacity feeding device.
