Earlier today, flames engulfed a vacant building under construction on Sawyer Ave. in Dorchester, Boston. A swift response from the Boston firefighters prevented further damage, despite one firefighter suffering minor injuries and needing hospital care as reported by NBC Boston and WHDH.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
In order to prevent the fire from escalating, the firefighter was treated as a minor and thus transported to a hospital by Boston EMS for more care as mentioned by WCVB.
