
The Dorchester neighborhood of Boston has recently witnessed a heightened focus on curbing firearm violence, as exemplified by the arrest of Sylvester King. The 30-year-old Boston man was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm yesterday as the Boston Police Department announced.
Police in the Youth Violence Strike Force on patrol in the area of Freeport Street and Tenean Street recognized a man with an active arrest warrant, King. After they detained him, subsequent investigations led to the recovery of a loaded FIE Titan firearm in his possession.
According to the Boston Police Department's report, King was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, assault to battery with a dangerous weapon, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
