A Boston man, Tramonte Jamier Queen, 23, has been charged with sex trafficking and transportation of a minor for prostitution. The United States Attorney's Office, District of Massachusetts announced Queen's charges, which include a single count of child sex trafficking and a count of transporting a minor with criminal sexual intent. Queen's arraignment is expected in federal court on November 30.
Trafficking for commercial sex, an ongoing issue globally, is at the heart of Queen's charges. The charges suggest that Queen had started exploiting a 16-year-old girl for prostitution from January 2022. She was transported from Massachusetts to Rhode Island and his mother's home in Dorchester were used as a site for the transactions.
Alongside the commercial sexual exploitation, Queen allegedly used threats and violence to maintain control over her.
According to the United States Attorney's Office, District of Massachusetts, upon conviction, Queen could be looking at a minimum sentence of 10 years to life for each count, five years of supervised release, and $250,000 fines. Despite the enormity of potential legal repercussions for Queen, it is unlikely to equate to the impact on the victim and her family.
