Yesterday, the Youth Violence Strike Force detained Ruddy Matos-Pimentel in Mattapan due to a routine traffic stop. Matos-Pimentel, 29, a resident of Boston, is now facing charges related to firearm, ammunition, and narcotics possession according to the Boston Police Department.
The officers stopped Matos-Pimentel's vehicle due to insufficient lighting and excessive window tint. A pocket knife in the passenger's front pocket aroused further suspicion when they approached the vehicle claims the Boston Police Department. Officers found a Rock Island Armory M206 firearm with three rounds in the magazine, plus a significant amount of narcotics, during the subsequent vehicle search. They reported finding an estimated 66 grams of fentanyl and crack cocaine.
The Boston Police Department stated in their 2022 statistics that numerous firearms-related incidents and arrests have led to an upsurge in patrols and law enforcement efforts. In this situation, the Youth Violence Strike Force's work ensured the safety of Mattapan's residents, as their focus is on reducing youth violence.
