Last Saturday, Jose Evangelista Yanascual Cumbalaza, a 50-year-old Brockton man, tragically died in a rollover accident on Interstate 93 near mile marker 26.8 in Hooksett, New Hampshire. MassLive informs that the accident happened approximately at 5:18 p.m., where a 2008 Chevrolet Express van drifted off route, subsequently crossing the median dividing Interstate 293 South from Interstate 93 South.
The van subsequently lost its control, flipped over, and ended up on the road's edge. According to NBC Boston, the crash led to passengers being ejected from the vehicle, including Cumbalaza, who was pronounced dead due to his injuries.
Incidents such as these compel reconsideration of road safety measures and question if the current steps taken are sufficient to safeguard our communities. MassLive further reports that three other people were transported to Elliot Hospital in Manchester, suffering from non-critical injuries in connection with the crash.
