
On Tuesday, a truck spilled a vast quantity of cement on Bedford Street in Abington, without stopping. The incident occurred close to the town fire station and resulted in substantial damage to several vehicles according to Boston.com. The Abington Police Department, using witness accounts and surveillance footage, is now seeking assistance from the public in identifying the truck and its driver.
According to MassLive, the event took place at approximately 8:30 a.m. The tractor-trailer truck purportedly dumped an extensive amount of cement on the road. Surveillance footage shows the truck having a yellow cabin and a white bed. Witnesses reported seeing the driver pull over, stop, and then proceed to travel southbound on Route 18.
The spill didn't only cause vehicle damage but significantly disrupted traffic. To guarantee the area's safety and enable efficient cleanup by the Department of Public Works, authorities had to shut down three lanes. CBS News reported that local businesses have provided video footage to aid the ongoing investigation.
