Yesterday, a devastating fire broke out at 3225 W. 38th Street in Chicago. The Chicago Fire Department informed the public of the incident through a Twitter post, stating all units were battling the blaze.

After the fire had been extinguished, the damage count revealed a saddening loss: one civilian dead, another transported to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
Late into the night, the Chicago Fire Department released an update, officially confirming the death of one civilian within the building.
