While many New Yorkers hunker down for the traditional feast, the city of Chicago braces for a crisp but undeniably sunny Thanksgiving. According to the Chicago Tribune, the National Weather Service is placing bets on blue skies, with the mercury striking a moderate chord at 45 degrees. It may well be sweater weather, but at least it's not snowsuit season.
Travelers pushing through the Windy City's hubs were greeted with "a few clouds" at Midway Airport at 46 degrees, so it seems O’Hare International Airport is not far behind, with thermometers heralding a solid 45 degrees. "Thursday, highs are expected to climb to 45 degrees before dropping to the high 20s overnight" the Tribune reports.
The FOX 32 Chicago advises that while clear conditions are forecasted, the day will see highs clawing at the upper 30s. An embrace of chill air is set to seep into Chicago's bones, "this trend lasts through at least the middle of next week," Fox 32 said, nose-diving with lows that flirt with the 20s.
As for those with travel plans, your weather worries may be few, but not entirely forgotten. There's just a speck, a single chance of precipitation predicted—"it"will be late Saturday night into early Sunday when snow appears likely." FOX 32's forecast paints a quaint picture of the city, possibly dressed in an inch of snow—not enough to stall the L-trains, but perhaps to complicate an alleyway or ornery side street.
