Yesterday marked a distressing day for the communities within the 8th, 9th, and 12th Districts of Chicago as they faced a flurry of armed robberies. This series of well-coordinated acts of crime, as per the Chicago Police Department (CPD) Community Alert, involved three to four male culprits targeting locations predominantly in the city's South and Southwest sides.
According to the Community Alert, the assailants brandished black handguns and upon obtaining the victims' belongings fled in a white 4-door sedan, possibly a Toyota or Kia.
In response to this wave of crime, the CPD has offered guidelines to protect citizens from such occurrences. They advise being viligant of your surroundings, reporting suspicious activity, and remember any unique characteristics of the person.
