Mayor Johnson praised "Chicago for leading in workers' rights progression," affirming that this policy will enhance the city's economic vitality. He added that cooperation was vital in achieving the resultant ordinance, which will serve as a directive for similar legislative initiatives.
Organizations in favor of the Paid Leave Ordinance include the Business Leadership Council, the Chicago Urban League, and the Chatham Business Association. Back of the Yards Coffeehouse, Mashallah, The Quarry Events Center, Imani Bakery, and Windy City Whiskey & Barbecue are a few businesses that support the ordinance by helping small businesses as per the same source.
