A tragic incident unfolded at a Chicago nursing home when a resident, William Paschall, was charged with fatally assaulting another over a washing machine dispute. He now faces charges of first-degree murder and aggravated battery against someone over 60, as reported by CBS News.
On Friday night, November 17, officers attended to a call at the Salem Village Nursing and Rehabilitation center. They found a 61-year-old man dead in the laundry room where staff were trying to administer medical aid, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
An initial investigation suggests that Paschall allegedly attacked the victim over a washing machine use. Despite a staff member trying to stop him, Paschall persisted in assaulting the other man, using fists and the victim's own walker, causing him to fatally hit the ground.
